State Leadership Conference (SLC) Onsite Registration

Onsite chapter check-in will be available in the Chattanooga Convention Center lobby, close to Marriott at the times listed below. Steps to chapter check-in are listed below.
  1. Sunday, April 10 | 7–9 p.m.
  2. Monday, April 11 | 8–10:30 a.m.
All chapters must check in before 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11 in order to participate in any conference activities.

Chapter Check-in Steps:
  1. Confirm CTSO Release Form for Every Attendee: Chapters will not be allowed to attend the conference until all attendees have a CTSO Release Form on file in the chapter adviser's possession. The CTSO Release Form for Tennessee FBLA is available to download by clicking here
  2. Chapter Contact Form: Each chapter adviser will fill out the chapter contact form, which will indicate your assigned hotel and adviser cell phone number.
  3. Chapter Registration Packet Pick Up: Chapter registration packets will include the following:
    1. Name badges and lanyards (must be worn at all times)
    2. Wristbands (must be worn at all times)
    3. Adviser work assignments
    4. Conference program
    5. Attendee name badge ribbons
    6. Aquarium night tickets
    7. Aquarium night barbecue meal tickets (pre-orders only)
    8. TN FBLA state pins
  4. Competitive Event Schedule Verification: Each chapter adviser will receive a chapter schedule. If there is a scheduling conflict for a student, such as the presentation time for a chapter event and individual/team event are the same, you will need to notify us of that conflict so that we make a schedule adjustment. You should also let us know of any registered attendees who are not present during this check-in step.
  5. Financials: During this step, you will be picking up your zero balance receipts and dropping off verification forms and/or donations. The following items are allowed for submission during this step of chapter check-in:
    1. Can tab verification form
    2. Book donation verification form
    3. March of Dimes verification form or donation (you will receive a note card for your chapter representative to "donate" for the March of Dimes during Monday's opening session).
    4. Tennessee FBLA Scholarship donations (checks payable to Tennessee FBLA)
  6. Silent Auction, Can Tabs, and Book Donation Drop Off: During this step of the chapter check-in process, you will drop off your silent auction baskets, gallon jugs of can tabs, and/or actual books for donation in Ballroom E. After you have dropped off these items, you will be able to complete the chapter check-in by picking up your conference t-shirts (included in registration fee).
  7. T-shirt Pick Up: Changes to the registered t-shirt order cannot be made onsite. Only those sizes identified in the registration system were ordered and will be available.
***Name changes, substitutions, additions, and deletions or any other modification to registration have not been allowed since March 9, 2016. Each chapter is financially responsible for all registered attendees as of March 9, 2016.

SLC Adviser Work Assignments

There will be a mandatory adviser meeting on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.

The meeting should not last any longer than 45 minutes. Please arrive on time to complete the onsite chapter check-in prior to this meeting. The meeting will take place in the Convention Center Ballroom F.

Adviser Work Assignments
Adviser work assignments will be posted here by Friday, April 8, 2016. Unfortunately, changes to the shifts will not be made for any reason. In order for the conference to run smoothly for everyone, please make showing up for your work assignment a priority. There will be a sign-in and sign-out process for each shift. Your cooperation is sincerely appreciated.

SLC Final Program & Student Schedules

A copy of the final conference program will be available for download here by Friday, April 8, 2016.

**Reminder: All awards will be presented on Wednesday morning at the Awards Session.**

By Friday, April 8, you will be able to access each of your students' specific schedules by logging into the conference registration system and clicking the "View Schedule" link at the bottom of the page. Please be sure to verify your students' schedules, along with the chapter schedule that will be provided in your chapter registration packet, and check for scheduling conflicts.

SLC Community Service Project Opportunities

Silent Auction
Each year, a silent auction fundraiser is held at the Tennessee FBLA State Leadership Conference to provide funding for first and second place winners to attend the FBLA National Leadership Conference. To share in the proceeds from this auction, your school must provide a minimum of two baskets for the silent auction. The baskets are to be turned upon your arrival to the conference registration desk. Each basket should be valued at a minimum of $10.00. Please attach a card with a description of the basket contents, its approximate value, and your full chapter name.

March of Dimes
The March of Dimes is our national community service partner. Each chapter is encouraged to donate a check in the amount of $1.00 per conference attendee. Doing so, we can help babies begin a healthy life. Each chapter is encouraged to submit their check to the local March of Dimes office and turn in a March of Dimes Fundraising Report during onsite chapter check-in. If chapters choose to bring their donation to the conference, checks must be made payable to "March of Dimes" and can be turned in at the conference registration desk. (Each chapter will have an opportunity to send their chapter president or another designee on stage during the opening session to submit their chapter’s donation. Chapter representatives will meet at 5 p.m. on Monday for a quick rehearsal before the opening session.)

Ronald McDonald House Can Tab Drive
By donating can tabs to the Ronald McDonald House, Tennessee FBLA members can help provide families a place to stay while their critically ill children receive inpatient or outpatient medical care at area hospitals. Chapters can collect can tabs and place them in gallon jugs. Can tabs should be donated at your local Ronald McDonald House or they can be turned in at the registration desk at SLC. Chapters that deliver can tabs must submit the Can Tab Verification Form at registration to be recognized during the conference.

Tennessee Family Literacy Project
For a number of years, Tennessee FBLA members have collected books to donate to Tennessee families. While we encourage you to make donations of new books in your community and submit a Tennessee Family Literacy Project Donation Verification Form, during onsite chapter check-in, your chapter can submit new children's books to be donated to Chattanooga-area families.

Tennessee FBLA Night at the Aquarium

The mandatory dress code for the aquarium fun night is the Tennessee FBLA conference T-shirt, blue jeans, and conference lanyards. Blue jeans cannot have holes and must be worn properly around the waist. Only the chapters that pre-registered for the barbecue dinner will receive meal wristbands. (Click here for the aquarium flier.)

The aquarium will be open for Tennessee FBLA from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

Required CTSO Release Form

All 2016 SLC conference participants must have a signed CTSO Release Form on file before participation can be granted. Please CLICK HERE to download a copy of the form. Advisers must keep all release forms in their possession at all times and be prepared to show them at the registration table at SLC. Attendees without a signed form will be sent home from the conference and will be unable to participate.
