Warrior Family Beach Week is back!

The 4th Annual Beach Week is scheduled for September 6-11, 2016 in Bethany Beach, DE

Happy spring!  We're back from the off-season and already gearing up for the 4th Annual Operation SEAs the Day, Warrior Family Beach Week 2016! Here's just some of what we have planned for this special week:

• 30 Very Important Families (VIFs), warriors and their caregivers, will come to Bethany Beach for a week of rest and relaxation
• Welcome Home Motorcade - Friday 9/9, transporting Warrior Families from Sea Colony to Freeman Stage at Bayside.
• Freeman Stage at Bayside Concert in honor of the VIF’s (Very Important Families) September 9, 2016 – open to the public – tickets will be sold – artist to be announced.  Visit their website at http://freemanstage.org/

There are so many ways you can get involved and show your support for Operation SEAs the Day throughout the summer:

• Look for the Operation SEAs the Day float in the Bethany Beach 4th of July parade.
• Poster Pal Program will be available during July on Sundays across from the Bethany Beach Farmers Market. The community and visitors can make posters welcoming and thanking Warrior Families.
• Warrior Family Beach Week Merchandise will be available throughout the summer.  Keep an eye out for shirts, hats and some other special goodies. See below for more information. 
• Follow along on social media using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

2016 Operation SEAs the Day official merchandise is on sale at various locations:

• WSFS BANK: at 69 Atlantic Avenue (Route 26), Ocean View, DE
• Sea Colony Beach Shoppe: The Sea Colony Beach Shoppe located at Sea Colony Marketplace, Rt. 1 near Bethany Beach, DE 2015 (call ahead, currently they are operating off season store hours)
• Bethany Fine Arts: located in downtown Bethany Beach at 106 Garfield -- #6
• Bethany Beach Farmer’s Market: (Beginning Mid-June)

Extra Bonuses

At Operation SEAs the Day, our Community has been rewarded beyond Warrior Beach Week as we see many families benefitting in an ongoing way.  Bonding within families and between families is a bonus to us all as these Heroes continue the healing process.  For your efforts as individuals, and as a community, here are a few notes received by those who participated in 2015:

The whole experience was amazing, however the parade held on 9/11 has left an imprint in my heart forever. Seeing so many loving and caring people has made me realize there are people needless to say towns that care for their veterans and not only those who are still serving

The last two years of my life have been very overwhelming and mentally draining…. Relaxing, remembering life and enjoying the people. It is perfect. I can't express my appreciation for all you do. I thank you and everyone involved in this. Beautiful town full of beautiful people was exactly what I needed. I can't explain how this has helped me mentally but it has and I want you to know I appreciate it all from the bottom of my heart. I really do. You are wonderful.

From a family member – I truly believe that this past week was the beginning of an emotional healing process for him. He has spent a long time healing physically. The emotional healing will be much longer, but I believe OSTD helped him to understand that there are good people in the world who care about him, and others. He is in a good place right now--- I cannot thank you enough!
