Housing A Central Focus of House of Commons Finance Committee’s Pre-Budget Report

On March 11, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance tabled its final pre-budget report, which summarizes the appearances of over 92 presenting organizations and 175 written submissions from groups that were not invited to appear.

CHRA was pleased to see multiple mentions of the need for re-investment in affordable housing and homelessness, and specifically the inclusion of nine direct quotes from CHRA’s appearance before the Committee in February 2016. READ MORE.

David Coletto, Founding Partner, CEO, Abacus Data, and Kira Gerwing, Manager, Community Investment Impact Real Estate, Vancity Credit Union will discuss leveraging community impact and public attitudes to advance the non-profit housing agenda.

A Few Emerging Professionals Bursaries Left!

CHRA provides a limited number of bursaries to support Emerging Professionals and students from across Canada to attend our National Congress. Bursaries will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, and in consideration of geographic inclusion. First time bursary recipients receive up to 75% of their return travel and $45 per night to help offset the cost of accommodation. MORE DETAILS

Rooftops Canada/Abri international is a national non-profit organization that works with local organizations to build homes and communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. Part of their mandate is to engage and inform Canadians on international development issues.
