Thank You to all who came out to our Week of Cultural Resistance Events and to our first Night of Cultural Resistance in our new home!

This year marked our 5th year cultivating a week's worth of programming, and we were excited to share that with you all. Our theme - 'Breathing Life into Legacy' allowed for us to reflect and engage with the space's past as we move towards its future.

Among the amazing series of WoCR events was a beautiful alumni  gathering.  We were excited to welcome so many former (and current students) back to the MCC and are excited to report that folks are currently in the process of forming an MCC alumni network!! (Stay tuned for more information)

Throughout the week we also supported two different healing circles --focused on Womxn Self-Care as well as Students of Color with disAbilities -- in collaboration with close campus partners.  Each circle helped to create healing spaces for conversation and community to stimulate our individual healing processes.

Lastly, we appreciate all of you who engaged with us on our
16th Annual Night of Cultural Resistance!

Over 400 people shared space with us Friday night for amazing performances, food, and community bonding. Our interns are grateful for the opportunity to engage with all of you during a time very meaningful to us! Thank you to the community members and elders who shared wisdom and new memories with us throughout the week. Thank you to the new friends and people we encountered as we shared our the new(old) MLK space with ya'll!

Oh...and this happened!

Want to be an MCC Intern?
If our cute video doesn't play for you, try this link: https://youtu.be/iptDaNknXPM
The Multicultural Community Center (MCC) is currently seeking Student Interns to staff and implement programming in the MCC for the 2016-2017 academic school year. The MCC Internship is intended to facilitate students’ greater involvement in the MCC as well as their broader engagement in multicultural- related education, collaboration and community-building.

Rooted in the 1999 Ethnic Studies Strike and Agreement, the MCC has had a profound history of struggle, student-visioning and vibrant programming in the decade since its inception. Building on increased—and student-won—funding, Interns are an integral part of the MCC’s future as a student-driven and community-centered space. The MCC Internship is a unique opportunity to create and engage in innovative, reflexive and grass roots programming and project design, collective decision-making structures, equitable and accessible space management, evaluation processes, etc. As an ever growing and evolving space on campus, we are looking for interns who are highly motivated and ready to invest in both themselves and the year-long MCC internship program.

The majority of MCC Intern positions will be allocated to workstudy eligible students. Non-workstudy eligible students (including AB540 and undocumented students) will also be considered for MCC Intern positions based on their specific potential to contribute particular skills and expertise needed for the MCC to fulfill its programmatic and logistical vision.

Priority Deadline: Thursday, April 7th @5pm
