EARLY SEASON SUCCESS AT THE US CUP FOR CHLOE AND ROSE.

The first round of the US Cup proved to be an early season success for the team, with Chloe and Rose both taking to the cross-country podium (XC), and Chloe winning the short track cross-country (STXC). This was the first team effort, with all hands on deck and the complete support of TJ Woodruff and Kenny When adding to the weekend.

Both Chloe and Rose took time to reflect on the weekend on their sites. Here's an excerpt from each of them.

CHLOE'S REPORT

First, this weekend was something of a trial-run for Stan’s NoTubes-Pivot: an opportunity to test out our equipment, our legs, and ourselves as a team. The race was important but as a UCI C3, it doesn’t have much weight in divvying out international racing points (which determine world rank) or shaking out who’s on track to Rio. Even so, it’s an important confidence marker in the build-up to the bigger races ahead and the team has a lot to smile about from the weekend. While Rose and I did our jobs well this weekend racing our bikes, TJ and Kenny are the guys behind the scenes putting in 10x the work and setting us up for success.

ROSE'S REPORT

After spending a long weekend in Sedona for a team photo / video shoot, we headed back to Prescott for some rest, riding, and prep for the first race weekend in San Dimas, CA. At this point in the season, I have been training inside primarily and many unknowns loom leading up to the first race. I know that I have done my work to the best of my ability, and I deserve to be confident in that. In addition, Kenny and TJ are so diligent in making sure my equipment is working flawlessly, that I have little to think about other than myself.

Philip Beckman (PBCreative) puts in long days behind the lens at mountain bike races across the country. He not only shoots the pros, but each amateur event as well. We liked his images from this past weekend, especially the header image of Rose throwing down at the start of the cross-country race. Below is a glimpse at the short track race and how it played out.

This is an Olympic year, and the Games are only a few months away. Both Chloe and Rose are both on the U.S. Long Team and are in contention to earn a spot on Team USA to race for gold in Rio. Each rider has put in an enormous amount of work to get to this stage.

Training and preparations are falling in place and while a spot on the team is not guaranteed, it seems that everything is on the right track. Bonelli was an early test to see that the riders, the equipment, and training are all heading in the right direction.

In a few short weeks, Chloe will board a long flight to Catamarca, Argentina to represent Team USA at the Pan American Championships. The international racing (UCI) points she's aiming to earn by a strong performance there will help Team USA secure a second starting position at the Olympic Games in Rio.
