This iOS release is available for FREE to any customer who currently has access to the PDS Idler Management (Mobile Version).

Like the web version, iPDS has many features which assist customers in the prediction and management of idler failure in real-time.

Dashboard views allow users and stakeholders to quickly identify and address at-risk failures in the software during daily opportune maintenance.

iPDS takes advantage of the advanced camera quality on iPads to allow users to capture detailed photos and assign them to failures.

In-field inspections are made more “user friendly” with the simple navigation and the native intuitive features of iPads including a larger screen display.

If there is enough interest from customers, the Wear Management module will be developed for iPDS by the end of 2016. Please let us know if you would like further information on this.

Why iOS?

We have been asked by customers why the app was only developed for iOS. The simple answer is that Productivity Development Solutions is constantly updating the PDS software. Each update must be meticulously tested for bugs before release. The more devices to test against, the more potential exists for bugs to not be discovered.

Apple deliberately standardises its iOS platform across all of its devices, so even when a new device or new version of iOS is released, PDS can ensure the software continues to behave in a consistent manner. By developing for iOS, we only have to worry about making iPDS compatible with the latest OS versions which covers 97% of all iOS users.

On the other hand, if we were to develop the app for only three of the most popular Android operating systems, the app would still only be compatible with 67% of the Android market.
