... And one of the biggest drinking days of the year is finally upon us. Seems like everyone is downing corned beef and cabbage, and dyeing everything green to celebrate the beloved holiday. That's totally cool with us, but did you know that the color blue was actually originally associated with St. Patrick's Day? It wasn't until the 19th Century that green became representative of the Emerald Isle and the holiday. It's all about education, lads and lassies. Knowledge is power.
We're celebrating St. Patrick's Day in our own way (before heading over to a certain Irish pub...) with an Irish Red, "Shamrocks & Shenanigans." This is an amped up version of Tina's magical brew from a few months back. We added Jameson soaked oak chips for a subtle whiskey undertone with woodsy hints of vanilla and oak. The guys think it's a relaxing, soothing beer that, once you take a sip, you'll be smiling all night.
So try a pint and smile all the way through your weekend until you join us again on Sunday for our Annual Spring Beak Party! We'll be releasing Up on the Sun Saison, our seasonal classic with peppery notes and lemongrass influences. It's pretty legit. Greg Lilley & Co., Terri Marie, and some yummy food trucks (read: Libretto's, All-Star Cafe, and King of Pops) are helping us celebrate. Other Sunday Funday things include: Limited Edition Tie Dye T-shirts on sale (kids' sizes!), our partner Chandra's birthday, and the official first day of Spring!
Spring Into Smartness: The spring, or vernal, equinox is a day in which we have exactly 12 hours of daylight and night. It was also an important day for the Ancient Egyptians. They built the Great Sphinx to look directly at the rising sun on this day.
