News from O'Brien Guitars
Greetings  from O'Brien Guitars

I just finished restoring an 1890 Martin parlor guitar. These little instruments sound fantastic and are fun to play! Here is a video of the restoration process.

Here is my latest Luthier Tips du Jour Mailbag video. In this video I offer advice about how to get a super high gloss finish without using a buffer. All of my Luthier Tips du jour videos are available on my website via the videos page  Beside the video window there is a drop down menu that allows you to switch between my original Luthier Tips du Jour videos, my Luthier Tips du Jour Mailbag videos, product videos and others. The others menu has some very interesting videos including people playing my instruments.

This past weekend I was at Kent Everett's shop in the North Georgia mountains filming a fretting instructional video. For some reason folks have trouble with this step and seem to complicate it much more than they should. So, coming soon to my growing list of online instructional videos will be one on fretwork.

I am already taking reservations for my 2017 teaching schedule.  If you can't come to my shop for a building class then my online courses are a very close second to actually being here with me in my shop.  Happy Building!

If you are interested in learning to build guitars or just want
to see how I build my guitars then schedule a class with me.

If you are in need of a concert quality classical or steel string
guitar then let me know as I would love to build a guitar for you.

Thank you,
