SEASON UPDATE
After six grueling weeks of the build season, Valencia, of the AdamBots, and Excaliper, of the CyberCats, were ready to challenge the other teams for the first time at the Waterford District Competition on March 4th and 5th. The competition was very tough and exciting, with some incredibly high scoring matches. Throughout the course of the qualification matches, our team demonstrated our abilities to breach the Outer Works, score high goals (pictured above), aid our alliance partners in crossing defenses, and surround the tower. At the end of the qualification matches, the AdamBots were ranked 17th with 20 ranking points. We were selected for the second alliance by Alliance Captain Team 2137, TORC, competing alongside Team 1718, the Fighting Pi. After advancing to the semifinals, we were eliminated in a close tiebreaker match.
Our second event was the Center Line District Competition at Center Line High School. After qualifications, we were ranked in 12th place. During alliance selections, we were the first pick of the sixth alliance with teams 910, the Foley Freeze, and 5623, the Robotic Rams. Unfortunately, we were eliminated in the quarterfinals with some close matches. However, we did win the Entrepreneurship Award because of the hard work of our Business Plan Team! The AdamBots also had two semifinalists for Dean's List, Keerthi Sreenivasan and Megan Sochanski, competing at this competition. Congratulations to Megan for being a finalist at this event! Megan will be at the Michigan State Championships in Grand Rapids to compete for this award in mid-April. Check out our website for photos of the Waterford District and Center Line District.
In the next month, we are looking forward to competing at the Queen City Regional Event in Cincinnati! Follow our progress on our social media feeds, and on our team blog for updates on upcoming competitions and events.
