Fellow Republican,

As you probably know, there are plenty of problems and few solutions in politics right now, and here are a couple of very relevant ones in Georgia and nationally that you may want to be aware of, as well as some solutions to help make things better:

Betrayal:
Republicans in Georgia passed clearly Republican, pro-gun, campus carry legislation out of the General Assembly (link to bill), only to then have a “Republican” governor who had recently been in favor of the legislation, start signaling he’d veto it because he’s concerned about people under 18 being around guns. This is with few days left in the legislative session. (Link here and here)

Analysis: This is an extremely false pretext as people under 18 can’t receive a concealed carry permit under the current or proposed law. If this bill is vetoed, and Republicans don’t override the veto, it simply shows that the bill was never intended to pass: just provide a perception that representatives care about the Second Amendment. Most disappointingly, it leaves students defenseless at universities to be unarmed victims of crime. Note the deafening silence from Republican "leaders" in the GAGOP and in political office of this betrayal.

The Way Forward: We need to start contacting politicians that betray their Republican principles and demand they vote accordingly or get them out of office. Here’s a link to the votes on the campus carry bill. Make sure that you contact your political employees and let them know your position. The Governor’s Office website (for e-mails and calls) is here as well.

Lies:
The GOP “Establishment” (i.e. political industry, as defined in THIS link), after being warned months ago by myself and others (link here and here), decided to create, set, and/or keep party rules at both the Georgia GOP, and at a National level, in a way that clearly disenfranchised voters in order to consolidate support around a GOP Presidential nominee as quickly as possible. Now that those rules have led to an outcome they don’t like (i.e. Cruz and Trump leading in delegates), those same people want to change the rules, after the fact, to destroy the GOP by either refusing to allow Trump or Cruz to obtain the GOP nomination, or by voting third party and allowing a Democrat to win.

Analysis: It is both sad and fitting that the same Establishment “leaders” in the GOP who have refused to stand up to politicians who betray the voters, who have refused to allocate resources to actually increase involvement in the GOP, or who have been silent in the face of financial waste in the party, are now showing their true colors by abandoning the Republican Party due to the rise of candidates that they don’t like or support. This, of course, is after years of insisting that those who truly hold Republican principles should vote for the candidate that “wins the primary”, even if they don’t like or support those candidates, because that "win" automatically makes them a Republican.

Solution: The only way to save the Republican Party and to continue to push for the principles we hold dear is to (1) Run for and be elected as a National Delegate this year to the GOP Convention in Cleveland; (2) Ensure that ONLY principled Delegates (those who will stand up to politicians to ensure that the will of the voters is not subverted) are elected to the GOP Convention in Cleveland; (3) Run for RNC Commiteeman or Commiteewoman from Georgia if you don’t think those currently running for the position will represent your interests; and (4) Replace politicians (ASAP) and party officers (next year-2017) who fail to stand up for you with true principled leadership, even if YOU have to be the one to step into the role.

YOU have the power to affect change. YOU can get more people involved in the GOP by forwarding this letter and showing up to the GOP County Conventions this Saturday (if your county didn’t move the date earlier) and making sure to be elected as a Delegate to your local District GOP Convention and State GOP Convention.

Please see below for other interesting upcoming events as well, and FORWARD this to your friends to get more people involved:
