Dear Colleague,

As pupils across Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian prepare for SQA exams whilst continuing to consider their choices for the next year, I am writing to make you aware that we still have places available for full time courses beginning August 2016.  Please note that our applications for full time courses will close with effect from Friday 29 April to enable us to carry out an academic review. Those courses with places still available will re-open for applications on
9 May.

Tracking report
To date we have had a fantastic response from school pupils with over 2,200 applications from 49 schools across Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian.

All schools have unique access to our live tracking system enabling you to view all applications for 2016 and their current status. If you are experiencing any issues with this please get in touch: diane.gordon@edinburghcollege.ac.uk


Schools College Partnership (SCP)
SCP applications will be reviewed from 29 April to enable interviews to take place. Please ensure all applications are submitted by this date. Following the review we will update you on any places still available. For further information please contact: graeme.dick@edinburghcollege.ac.uk

In order for us to understand better when and how you'd like to receive this information from us, please complete a quick feedback form.
From June 2016 we have a number of Foundation Apprenticeships (SCQF Level 6) places still available and will remain open throughout April and May. Foundation Apprenticeships enable pupils in S4 to S6 to complete elements of a Modern Apprenticeship while still at school. 

A member of staff will be in touch with Guidance Teachers to arrange a meeting to provide further information on Foundation Apprenticeship opportunities.

The delivery location of each of the programmes is still to be confirmed. Please note there will be funding to support travel to campuses where required.

Project SEARCH Partnership Programme
SCQF Level 5

 
Project SEARCH is a partnership between the college, the City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Lothian and Intowork to help people aged between 16 to 24 prepare for the world of work. 

Over the course of three entry-level internships, ranging from administrative to manual/practical roles, the young people gain more than 800 hours of practical work-based learning and training, with on-site support by a job coach and college tutor.

This event is aimed at all pupils from S1 – S6 who want to find out more about the courses we offer and the opportunities these lead too.

GLOW festival
7 May - 30 June 2016

Edinburgh College’s dazzling creative students light up the city with a two month celebration of their luminous skills at this year’s Glow festival.

Enjoy performances and exhibitions from students covering everything from music, theatre and dance to photography, sculpture and illustration.

Friday 10 June will see the college hosting our Annual Prizegiving event to recognise and reward the hard work and commitment of our students at our Milton Road campus. Look out for your invitation and we look forward to sharing this special event with you.
