Our latest webinar featured four speakers from across Canada discussing the issue of family homelessness and long-term solutions.

Budget 2016: Housing and Homelessness

On March 22, the federal government released the Budget 2016. The long-awaited announcement was the first for Liberal Party led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and was set to address several campaign promises, including the issue of housing and homelessness in Canada.

Highlights from the Budget include a $2.3 billion investment over two years in affordable housing, as well as $732 million to address housing in First Nations, Inuit and northern communities.

Donor Feature: Ash Saghatoleslami

Instead of asking his friends for gifts, this year Ash decided that for his birthday he'd simply like to get his friends together for dinner and ask each of them to contribute by purchasing a Raising the Roof toque. In total, he raised $700. Thanks Ash!

Community Spotlight: Toque Partner Agencies

For the 2016 Toque Campaign, 49 incredible Partner Agencies from communities across Canada joined us to support long-term solutions to homelessness. Thanks to their efforts, thousands of toques were sold nation-wide, with 50% of of the proceeds benefitting local community programs.
