EGYPTIAN  SOCCER  CLUB

Egyptian Soccer Club (ESC) starts on April 2nd, 2016, with its first enrolled youth team!
Be ready for action, excitement and competition!

With much pleasure we announce the start of the Egyptian Soccer Club (ESC). Club's mandate is to allow all members and friends the opportunity to enjoy the popular sport and form highly competitive soccer teams, in various age groups, joining various local and regional tournaments.

ESC's Technical Director and Head Soccer Coach is our renowned Nour Fathy. Nour was a star player of Vancouver Whitecaps FC Youth Program from 2004 to 2007. Afterwards, and as a Certified Coach, he coached the Vancouver Whitecaps W-League, the Seattle Sounders W-League team, and currently the Manager of Grassroots at Coastal FC.

Sham El Nessim!

 

It's time to enjoy our BC's energizing sun in Egyptian style! Just as last year, the ancient traditional festivity of Sham El Nessim continues (late this year) on May 15, 2016, when the event will be celebrated all day in Peace Arch Park in Surrey. Coloured eggs, seafood, music, games, sports and entertaining activities are being planned for children & adults for the pleasure of all. When you get there, you're not going to miss us; just look around for the nearby Egyptian flag!

EAS'  First  Term-End  Celebration!
Congratulations & thanks to all of us for our first successful term of Arabic Language classes at the Egyptian Arabic School (EAS). Due to the kindest support & enthusiasm of our teachers, members, students, parents and volunteers, we will proudly celebrate our first term-end on June 4, 2016 at Edmonds Community School, where EAS is located. Everyone is invited! Interested friends are also encouraged to attend, share the joy, and bring forward any inquiries and suggestions.

Eid Al Fitr 2016!
 
Join us for our Eid Al Fitr outdoor Family Picnic on Saturday, July 9. A potluck will be organized, sports & board games tournaments will be held, and a location will be selected and announced in the coming weeks. Summer Camp 2016!
Beach trips, sightseeing, sports, board games, friendly company, and delicious authentic dishes are what to expect in ECCS-BC's anticipated Summer Camp, which will take place in Camp Kanaka, Maple Ridge from July 29 to 31. Last year's much praised organizing team is volunteering again this year to re-deliver, with your generous-spirited participation, a fun & heartwarming camp for everyone! Award-Winning Egyptian Film in Vancity Theatre


Played in February 2016, Nefertiti’s Daughters is a story of women, art and revolution. Told by prominent Egyptian artists, this documentary focused on the role of women artists in the struggle for social and political change, it spotlights how the iconic graffiti of Queen Nefertiti placed her on the front lines in the ongoing fight for women’s rights and freedom in Egypt today.
