The Year of the Red Fire Monkey
April 2016
Greetings Subscriber
This month our thoughts have been dominated by the passing over of our dear friend and Hua Gong colleague Margaret (Miller).
From every situation there is much to learn, and indeed Margaret taught us all so much. She enjoyed life to the full, had that strong focus and often spoke of the need to "think outside the box". She also had a wild wit and a hearty laugh, and a great empathy for people in distress with ill health.
Many a new student to Hua Gong will remember her encouraging words offering hope and wisdom, and a certainty honed from her own personal experience.
Margaret was born in 1940, and indeed exhibited the courage and true grit of people born in that era.
In the last newsletter we mentioned that she passed over in a highly connected Qigong state, and below is a Qi Calligraphy image and further explanation from Zhixing
Freeing Spirit
This image was drawn a few days before dear Margaret (Miller) left us. and was put upon the wall by her bed. It was both a reflection of the state she was in, and a talisman which helped her to make a smooth transition. It shows from the image , that she had reconciled in her body, and her spirit had freed from the body. The signs on the left and right corners are "Heavenly Prayers" which were chanted to her.
Being a passionate dancer all her life, she was ready to dance her way into eternity.
I thought this should be comforting to all of us who are greatly saddened by the loss of dear Margaret."

Your Say
Below is a poem, penned by a student who attended the Image and Contemplation retreat held recently at St Katharine's of Parmoor.
Following the Light
So this morning in the Qi practice I joined in
And words like the Sparks of Qi started flying within.
My struggles, my sorrows, my efforts to break through
Mixed with feelings of ease, comfort, lightness in that Qi brew.
The wise Spirit smiled and gently nodded it's head,
"Welcome back" it said, "we'll carry on ahead."
"I missed you" I whispered, "some paths I took were wrong,
So I went away and the road seemed dark and long."
The Spirit smiled and lovingly said:
"There is only 'The Way' ahead.
There are no wrong paths in there,
Within chaos is an order everywhere."
I have been trying to follow the Light
But it usually seems out of reach or out of sight.
Than I came here, and with the Qi so strong
Heaviness vanished and the Light came along.
The moment I stopped struggling to drop the 'drop the weight' plea
The Light took over - and transformed it magically.
So this morning in the Qi practice I joined in
And words like the Sparks of Qi started flying within.
Clearing, clarifying, healing, bringing lightness and ease,
At the same time dissolving traces of the dis-ease.
Flying Sparks of Qi dancing it's dance
Energising and rejuvenating all at once.
The Spirit kept smiling and holding the space
While transformation has been taking place.
I know now why The Dao would say:
"There is only The Way."
