Three postdoctoral fellows to join Shorenstein APARC from 2016-17  Shorenstein APARC is pleased to announce its postdoctoral fellows for the next academic year. The scholars carry a broad range of interests from hospital reform to the economic effects of elite politics in Asia.
China Daily features Stanford research efforts in Zouping Led by late professor Michel Oksenberg, research efforts examined the local government, economy and social structure of Zouping, a county in northern China, and "helped the world gain greater and deeper understanding of China's role on the global stage."

Moon (Australian Journal of International Affairs) examines alliance politics and the "asymmetry of attention" that influences the relationship between the United States and South Korea.
Cloaks and Veils: Countervisualizing Cigarette Factories In and Outside of China by Matthew Kohrman (Anthropological Quarterly) explores why cigarette factories -- the very part of the supply chain producing the product -- rarely come under scrutiny in the global campaign to curb tobacco use.
