Foundation Recognizes Women to Watch

Foundation Trustees Driving Change

Recently, three Foundation trustees were honored by InvestmentNews for their extraordinary contributions to growing the role of women in the financial planning profession: Alexandra Armstrong, chairwoman and founder of Armstrong, Fleming & Moore Inc., received the first Lifetime Achievement Award, which will also be named in her honor moving forward; and Elissa Buie, chief executive of Yeske Buie and Kate Healy, managing director of institutional marketing for TD Ameritrade Institutional were honored among the 2015 20 Women to Watch.

Lazetta Braxton (Foundation Grants Committee member); Foundation trustees Kate Healy, Alex Armstrong, Elissa Buie, and Terri Fiedler; and executive director, Jon Dauphiné.

In addition, past trustees and committee members Deena Katz, Marjorie Fox, and Lazetta Braxton were also recognized as distinguished leaders and Women to Watch.

Ms. Armstrong announced that she would donate her Lifetime Achievement Award honorarium to the Foundation for Financial Planning in order for us to support a grant to the Kentucky Domestic Violence Association, a nonprofit dedicated to helping domestic violence survivors toward a path of independence.

The Foundation has benefited immensely from the brain trust of these trustees, who are devoted not just to ensuring that the profession enables women to thrive but that its benefits extend to underserved people. As previously announced, the Foundation for Financial Planning is transitioning its operations from Atlanta to Washington, DC.

New executive director Jon Dauphiné is adding several new staff to the team as previous Atlanta staff were unable to relocate.
