Dear Friends & Supporters of the Frank Bette Center for the Arts,

For over a decade, we have fulfilled our benefactor Frank Bette’s dream to create, maintain and support “a place for meetings, readings, showings, and other creative doings.”  We have proudly served the artistic needs of thousands of individuals and families across Alameda and the surrounding Bay Area Community through our Plein Air Paintout, Alameda on Camera, group and solo art exhibits, classes, regularly scheduled events in music, poetry, and storytelling, and most recently with the Secret Art Sale, a fundraiser benefitting the Alameda schools.

I especially appreciate its support as a venue for poetry (currently 3 readings per month). The art shows and other exhibits give a broad cross section of art from Alameda and elsewhere. Today we urgently need your help!  We have recently struggled through a series of unfortunate events which culminated in the closure of the Frank Bette Center by the City of Alameda and the depletion of our operating funds. Reopening the center will require immediate repairs as mandated by the City.

We urgently need to raise funds today for our Capital Campaign!  Our goal is to raise at least $25,000 by the end of April, 2016.
