Windows 10: Have you upgraded yet?

Back in July we bought you news of the upcoming Windows 10 release, and even though that seems like an eternity ago, we are finding that there are still a number of users who are yet to take advantage of the free upgrade.  Given this offer is only valid for a year, meaning it is due to expire in a few short months, we thought we would remind you of the benefits of the latest Windows instalment.

Microsoft has touted Windows 10 as the best version yet, and with a host of new features, it is easy to see why.  Firstly, new users will note the customisable start menu, with ability to arrange live updating tiles depending on usage preferences, as well as a simplified task manager.  Given the popularity of two-in-one devices, the program's continuum feature has made the transition from laptop to tablet and vice versa seamless, with Windows 10 instantly recognising when a device has changed modes. Further, personal assistant Cortana is on hand for search queries, and users are able to switch between multiple desktops - perfect for separating work and personal use.

Sounds great, doesn't it?  Perhaps, then, it is time to stop ignoring the little pop-up that appears on your screen and take the plunge into the exciting new world of Windows 10!  For assistance upgrading, visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/windows-10-upgrade and follow the prompts.

Code Club Australia Milestone

“Learning the language of our times — the code that underpins so much of our fast-changing society — is incredibly important.” Clover Moore, Sydney Lord Mayor

This is a great read for our educators! Code Club Australia has just launched its 500th branch as 15,000 children are now taking part in the program since its inception in 2014.  What a fantastic opportunity to promote STEM learning in our students!
