Namaste, April!
I'm super excited about this new month (I know it starts tomorrow, but I'm purposefully a day early this time around).
We're kicking it off with a trip to Whistler (we leave Saturday)--which will be my first time visiting Canada--and then just one week after returning from up north, I'm headed "down south" to DC, where I'll be spending a long weekend visiting with friends and teaching yoga. Good stuff!
So, as I prepare for heading out of the country and taking a few days off (much-needed right now!), I wanted to share a few of my favorite recent discoveries from the interwebs...
Read on for some helpful resources, interesting articles, and what I've been into as of late:
Inspiration of the Month: Brene Brown on Boundaries, Empathy, + Compassion {video}. Preach, sister!
Must-Read Article: What it's like to be that fat person sitting next to you on the plane. I'm so glad that I came across this article this week, as I'm preparing for a bunch of air travel over the next couple of months; it's a great reminder to be compassionate + kind to anyone and everyone you come across when flying in cramped quarters, as you never know what someone is going through.
Must-View Images: Lilica the dog's pregnancy photoshoot. If someone could guarantee that I would look this happy, glowing, and beautiful in my pregnancy photoshoot, I would book one stat.
What I'm Bingeing On: The People vs. OJ Simpson. Although I lived through this, I don't remember it very well and definitely didn't follow the trial as closely as this series does. Ben and I are hooked!
Great Tutorial for Those New to Online Business: Email Marketing 101: A Beginners Guide to Building an Email List. A lot of people have been asking me about email marketing (or the importance of having an email/newsletter list) lately, and I think this is the perfect place to start.
Must-Watch Animal Video: Violet the Sweater-Wearing Goat. My newest obsession! I can't get enough.
What I'm Reading: The Widow, which is a total page-turner. Just finished Fates and Furies, which is really sad but beautifully-written. Both of these books were on my Spring Reading List, and I'm so glad they were, as I stand behind both recommendations.
Must-Subscribe Email List for Expectant Parents: Lucie's List. I'm loving it! Sign up to get informative + entertaining weekly emails based on your due date. Also a great place to go for registry recommendations and advice.
Own a Website? FYI: Make sure it's mobile friendly by May. Google will be doing another new rollout that further prioritizes mobile-friendly sites over non-mobile sites.
Life-Changing DIY Product That You Should Know About: RECLAIM Beyond Paint. It's furniture, cabinet, + countertop paint that doesn't require sanding, priming, or prep. We just used it to paint a hideous built-in shelving unit in our bedroom and it's amazing. Wish we'd known about it when we were revamping our kitchen!
And with that, here's what's coming up in the next couple of months {+ a few things you may have missed on Starr Struck in March!}...
