It's not everyday that we collaborate with some great beer-minded friends but, when we do, you can expect something interesting. For the start of CLT Craft Beer Week, we brought around the beloved Rice Rice Baby, our joint effort with Free Range Brewing. To herald the official beginning of Spring and all things sunshiny and wonderful, we got together with Wooden Robot for Part II of a unique mash up of styles. We're so excited about it that we forgot about THURSty THURSday and decided to release it today.
Ladies and gents, we'd like to re-introduce you to our Farmhouse IPA. "Paranoid Android Deux" is new, improved, but just as tasty as the original. Instead of using an experimental hop variety, the guys used Lemondrop and Amarillo hops for a light citrusy aroma with a little hint of herbaceousness. For some funky cool business, we took off a Saison Brett culture from Wooden Robot's Foudre (pronounced foo-druh) for fermentation. Paired with the hops and some NC malts from Riverbend Malthouse, this concoction has a hint of tartness and some bright citrus notes that are sure to please. You can try it side by side with our latest seasonal "Up on the Sun" Saison to see the differences!
Two Chicks and a Truck makes this really yummy spinach and artichoke quesadilla that'll pair reallll nice with a glass of "Paranoid Android Deux." Not your style? Grab a Twisted Cuban Sandwich! If you can't stay to hang out with us, we won't judge. We'll have 32 oz. howlers available for take home so you can share some with your sweetie.
Beer Makes Friends: Saisons were pretty much considered fuel for farmers in France back in the 1700s. The beer would ferment over wintertime and be ready for the spring and summer. It was much needed during hot months when "les saissoniers" (seasonal workers) were tending crops.
