PROCLAIM 2016
On a Mission of Mercy: Evangelising Parishes

PROCLAIM 2016 is a Conference on the New Evangelisation organised and hosted on behalf of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference by the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay.

Taking place from 1-3 September 2016 at The Concourse, Chatswood, in the northern suburbs of Sydney, PROCLAIM 2016  will draw together over 500 participants to discuss, exchange and learn fresh ways in which parishes can become evangelising communities of the twenty-first century.

The theme, “On a Mission of Mercy: Evangelising Parishes”, embraces the challenge of Pope Francis for the joyful and pastoral conversion of our parishes, so that our practices, resources, language and structures can be suitably channelled for the evangelisation of today’s world (Evangelii Gaudium 27)

Who is it for:
This is a Conference for: clergy; religious; diocesan and parish staff and volunteers in parish ministry; married and single people; young and old; those already actively engaged; and those who desire to be part of the new evangelisation.

Exciting Key-Note Speakers:
We are very pleased to be hosting renowned international speakers: Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington; Bishop Nicholas Hudson, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Westminster; and Dr Susan Timoney, Secretary for Pastoral Ministry and Social Concerns at the Archdiocese of Washington.

Workshops and Practical Strategies:
Importantly, the Conference will also numerous workshops by presenters from Australia and abroad who will offer participants some of the best practices, strategies and creative approaches by which the mercy and joy of the Gospel can be lived out by local communities of faith.
