HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DESIGN INNOVATIVE RECYCLING BIN FOR BOISE

Students from Sage International School’s Green Team presented an innovative, sustainable program to promote recycling in parks at Tuesday’s Boise City Council work session. Sage students approached Boise Parks & Recreation with their new idea for an outdoor recycling bin, named Terra Luna, which addressed the City Council’s desire to increase the number of recycling bins in Boise’s parks.
EXPEDITIONS PIONEER PROGRAM

Imagine visiting the bottom of the sea or the surface of Mars in an afternoon. With Expeditions, teachers can take their classes on immersive virtual journeys to bring their lessons to life.

Expeditions is a virtual reality platform built for the classroom, where students get guided tours of places school buses can't go. Using a tablet, teachers can guide up to 50 students wearing virtual reality viewers.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY
 
Community Development Block Grants can be a potential resource in the purchase or rehabilitation of facilities for Charter Schools. These grants are administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and aim to improve housing options, economic opportunities, and community development, which includes facilities, for moderate to low income persons. The program is wide-ranging and flexible.

HEALTH OF THE CHARTER MOVEMENT
 
The Health of the Charter Public School Movement: A State-by-State Analysis evaluates the health of the charter public school movement in key states across the country. Following the first report released in October 2014, this second edition measures movement growth, innovation, and quality, while this year doubling the number of quality measures. Due to these quality additions, a total of 18 states with charter school laws met the criteria for inclusion in this year’s report.
