Call for Proposals in social, behavioral, engineering, or health sciences
The University of Michigan has just signed an agreement with four educational institutions in Berlin to spearhead and provide seed funding for pilot research that cross disciplines within the social and behavioral sciences as well as engineering and the health sciences:
Seed funding for each partner will be provided within their own country and in their own currency. We believe this interdisciplinary team approach is critical to addressing the global challenges we are facing in the future as a society.
Submission Deadline: May 15, 2016 (5pm EDT) Award Amount: Up to five grants with up to $50,000 (€40,000)/year per grant. Awards may be made for one year or two years, with a quality gate review at midpoint of the project duration for projects lasting longer than one year.
Research Areas These research areas are chosen in light of the need for social and behavioral science perspectives to optimize recent advances in technology, mobility, transportation and health. Too often these advances are not readily adopted by the people who would most benefit from them.
1. Technology and health interface across the life span. 2. Mobility / Transportation and health across the lifespan.
Faculty looking for international research partners can pursue potential partners on their own or post their ideas on the website forum entitled Collaborative Research Ideas.
Applications will be accepted until May 15, 2016 by 5pm EDT, and funding decisions will be made in July 2016.
Please feel free to forward this to U-M faculty colleagues who may be interested.
