3sixty Spring Update

Mix together:  interns, tools, a neighborhood park renovation and party, & massive building renovations...you'll get a taste of our  winter & spring!
Though we haven't sent an update recently, we have been as busy as ever over the past few months! Sayde, Cole, Megan, and Paul are joining us to complete our team as summer interns!  Each of them will help out in various ways with the daily life of 3sixty as well as doing a bit of time on the (8th day) Farm. Check out below for the highlights on: 3. our (soon to be) new office,  2. the TOOL LIBRARY & 1. the Rosa Parks Makeover!!
1. Party (& work) in the Park - We're having a work day & party at Rosa Parks Green on Saturday, May 21st. You're invited to join the fun and help us shower some love on our beloved neighborhood park! In addition to Ridge Point Church, we've been working with the City of Holland, Homecor, Sinclair Recreation, and First Reformed Church to coordinate efforts to restore this much-used area. After almost 30 years of play, the structure needed many repairs. In addition to the new playground structure, we'll do some landscaping, touch up paint, and install a NEW gaga pit.  While the work is underway, the fun begins with food & drinks, games, inflatables, horse and buggy rides & neighborhood musicians.  Neighbors from every direction will come together to work and play, renewing this park as an asset for years to come!  More info is on our website.  We are also using this neighborhood-wide gathering to officially "GRAND-OPEN" our tool library (keep reading below)
2. 3sixty Tool Library ...right around the corner from the Park Party is the grand opening for the Tool Library! A lot has developed since the soft launch 6 months ago as the dedicated leadership team continues to put their heads and hands together. We are thankful for the volunteers who've worked alongside this team to install shelving, new LED lightbulbs, security and computer updates, label each area of the garage, and much more. From team meetings to Saturdays spent meeting new members, processing donations into our inventory and of course loaning out tools, each task joins our community together in caring for the neighborhood. We're excited to show you the progress and kick off what's sure to be a busy season at the Tool Library! In the meantime, take a peek online!
3. Mid Town Hub Renovations - From roofing to electrical, rehab is taking off over on 16th and Riverl! Much of the winter was spent on design, permits, and building infrastructure. We are close to re-siding the whole building, and installing a premium, commercial, insulation system made possible by... SMARTci Systems who generously donated a truckload of insulation! This will soon be installed by many of our faithful volunteers (and interns). Crews from Ridge Point and Hope College helped with the demo work. Neighbor Harv gave his invaluable time to our architectural needs & The Holland Sentinel spotlighted this project in February when 3sixty was their featured Non-Profit of the Week!  None of this work would be possible without grants from the City of Holland and Community Foundation of Holland/Zeeland Area. We are so thankful for each volunteer (and donation) along the way. We are all ready looking forward to the open house celebration (ok, that is still a ways off, but it helps to imagine :)  Please consider helping us finish this great project with some time or dollars!
