Off and running at the Health & Fitness Expo
This annual event is put on by community partners and local businesses, with support from the Verdant Health Commission, to promote health and fitness to families that live in South Snohomish County. Kid-friendly activities, interactive booths, health screenings, a kids fun run and a 5K run/walk are all planned for the Saturday, May 14 FREE event from 9 a.m. to noon at the Edmonds School District Stadium, 7600 212th Street SW in Edmonds.

Youth mental health issues are common — learn more
Snohomish County is supporting families’ needs regarding youth mental health and is coordinating its first Children & Youth Mental Wellness Fair, a FREE family event taking place on Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Evergreen Middle School in Everett. There will be drop-in presentations on a number of mental health topics, movies, music and speaker/former NFL player Trent Shelton. According to the US Surgeon General, one in five children will suffer from a diagnosable mental health condition each year. Learn what you can do to support our youth at this event.

Debunking 10 aging myths
