One of France’s most-anticipated high-end TV dramas Section Zero premiered this week. The project is produced by Luc Besson’s France-U.S. studio EuropaCorp and France’s Canal Plus. It was entirely filmed in Bulgaria, serviced by Nu Boyana Studios.
"I wanted an atmosphere like "Mad Max" and "Blade Runner" it was found in Bulgaria. Three quarters of an hour from Sofia, there is an old industrial complex in ruins, huge, still in its original condition, which gave us the post-apocalyptic atmosphere I was looking in the scenes set in the camp of bikers, or the children one. But the majority of the plans, both external and interiors were shot in Nu Boyana Studios in Sofia. With storms and temperatures often below freezing we had to face, we could have never reached the end of ninety-eight days of filming if we weren't settled there." - said Olivier Marchal, the director of Section Zero

Senior Visual Effects Supervisor Sean Farrow, and Visual Effects Producer Anna V. James, led our Worldwide FX’s team completing more than 400 shots for LONDON HAS FALLEN. Worldwide FX was the lead VFX house on the “Olympus Has Fallen” sequel and our main areas of work included a number of full CG shots and various set extensions, DMPs and environment work in order to recreate in detail key locations in London such as Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Chelsea Bridge and Buckingham Palace.
“London Has Fallen” (2016) is directed by Babak Najafi and is starring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett.

Nu Boyana gave Grand Prix Award at Sofia International Film Festival's 2016 co-production market Sofia Meetings – 50 000 Euro in studio service and 5000 Euro soft money upon commencement of the project. The winner is the Georgian film ‘Daisi’.

THE GLOBAL FARM documentary, produced by Nu Boyana Film, premiered to great audience success at the Sofia International Film Festival 2016. Los Angeles urban farmer Courtney Guerra explores how different communities are feeding themselves. In her journey, starting from Bulgaria she discovers interesting stories about success, failure and everything in-between. This is the first episode of a documentary series dedicated to the path of clean products from farm to table.
