Research Bulletin - April 2016 (Issue 4)

April is shaping up to be a very busy month with a number of changes impacting the research and development community in Scotland. With recent changes to the HRA approvals system in England, a short lecture outlining the changes will take place in Glasgow on 27th April; you can also read more about the replacement to the UKCRN Portfolio database in this issue of Research Bulletin. The CSO and Pfizer call for research proposals in rare diseases also closes at the end of the month, and in addition to planning for the annual NRS Conference (more information coming soon!) plans are well underway for the second Scottish Cancer Research Conference - Working with Industry. NHS Research Scotland will be exhibiting at a range of external events over the coming months so make sure you review the calendar and get in touch if you wish to get involved. As always your ideas, feedback and contributions are welcomed.

To share information on the recent changes to the HRA approvals system in England, a short lecture will take place from 12 - 2pm on the 27th April at the Medi Cinema within West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital. Although the talk will be of broad interest to the research community, we anticipate that the meeting will be of particular interest to anyone who is involved in seeking approval for studies with sites in England, such as project managers of Scottish academic sponsors for studies with English sites.
