WE HAVE BABIES, YES, WE DO!
|
|
What a week of new beginnings for three WMS families! We rejoice with each of these families with new children.
Rory Farha and her family welcomed baby Etta Eileen on March 31. Weighing in at 6 lbs, 12 oz, Etta's toesies are big sister Rory's favorite thing about her!
Upper Elementary teacher Barb Monahan has a new granddaughter! Madden Monahan was born March 5, and looked quite snuggly and peaceful in a photo of her Grandma's arms!
The "freshest" baby is the new brother of Torriin Stebbins, who was born this morning. Students saw a picture of the beautiful boy, whose name is not yet known.
Congratulations to all of you!

GEOGRAPHY-A-THON UPDATE
Greetings WMS families! Geography-o-thon collections are growing! We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all those who have participated and helped us raise funds for the school! For the families who have pledged their support, students have until April 8th to collect the pledged amount from their sponsors and send it to school.
Will we be accepting any contributions after April 8th? You bet!! Parents – those who haven’t yet had a chance to pledge their support, and would like to do so, there is still time. Your Tax-Deductible donations - big or small- are always welcome. And yes, participation is voluntary, not mandatory. Remember, this unique fund-raiser is A COLLECTIVE EFFORT and every $10 or $20 adds up to a big amount in the end.
Again, the official Thank you letters will be mailed to all the sponsors, so please be sure to provide the correct mailing addresses with your pledges. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by Wichita Montessori School and the parents’ group.

ARE YOU DRIVING SAFELY IN THE PARKING LOT? PLEASE DO!!!
|
|
Everyone sometimes feels like they are in a hurry. If you ever feel that way in the school parking lot, please take a moment to realize that the VERY most important thing is for every child to be delivered and picked up safely.
A parent reported yesterday morning that, while he was turning right, into a parking place, another car passed him on the right--yikes! Thank you for driving safely, even when you are in a rush.

Field Day is a day of fun for kindergarten through 5th year elementary students. This year's event will be on Friday, May 13 (Rain date, Monday, May 16). WMS families join TIS families and enjoy field games, relays, and playing outside. Though no schedule is set, classes usually have either a morning or afternoon session at the games. Parents are invited to volunteer to help run games, serve refreshments, or just to come and cheer us on! More information to follow...

MUSIC PROGRAM NOTES
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?
|
|
As you know, our Spring Music Program, including ceremonies for Upper Elementary Graduation and Transition from Lower to Upper Elementary, is scheduled for Friday, May 6, at 1:00 PM. The program will be followed by a cookie reception in our classroom, after which children are dismissed for the day. We hope that all of our families will attend.
As the this year's program has a patriotic theme, please send children in red, white, or blue clothing. Girls, this is an opportunity to wear your best dress, or pants. Boys, please wear red, white, or blue (or black) slacks--no khaki, and no jeans, please. Flip-flops or high-heeled shoes are not recommended, as students will be on risers on the stage.
