The Future of Shopping |
|
The future of shopping …V&D, Perry Sport, Dixons, Free Record Shop... who’s next? One out of three shops will disappear in the next 4 years according to a professor e-marketing. However, in a Huffington Post article it is argued that next to the growing e-commerce, brick and mortar stores are far from vanishing. The biggest proof of that: last year Amazon, the pinnacle of online shopping, opened its first physical bookstore in Seattle. But what about high-end fashion and design stores, and other very specialized shops serving a niche? Furthermore, it seems that experience driven pop-up stores are here to stay. But for whom will they be? What is actually the future of shopping? And how will this affect the way we use our cities and our streets? |
