CrowZone Radio - April
Thanks for subscribing to our newsletter, here's a short note of what's going on this month.
Tues April 5th, 9pm - The Prog Files with Adrian Beeby.
This month Adrian is away in the US (some big Prog Rock awards ceremony probably!) and show the Prog Files has been recorded in advance but rest assured, it's got all the things you have come to expect from Adrian's monthly show.
Wed April 13th, 9pm - Book Club with Liz.
This month's book is "Game of Kings" by Dorothy Dunnett. Now it's quite a big book, but you may be able to read it in time (I hope so, as I haven't got past the first chapter yet - Ed)
Tues April 26th, 9pm - Introducing Matt James
Our newest presenter! We're looking forward to see what he has in store for us.
Sat April 30th, 8pm - DISCrOw
To celebrate 2 years of CrowZone Radio we thought we'd throw an old fashioned Disco. All the details are above and we'd love to see you there. Yes, you can come and be a wallflower, or a disco diva, whatever floats your boat.
We're constantly coming up with new ideas, constrained only by technology, staffing and budget of course!
- Classical Hour - a selection of classical tracks to accompany your Sunday lunch (from 1-2pm). Currently this is an automated presentation
- Jazz Hour - from 2-3pm each Sunday, Smudge presents an hour of mainstream Jazz.
- Smudge with TimeZones- Monday 7-9pm. Focusing on classic tracks, with "Gosh I haven't that in ages", "Three in a row", and "Smudge's long one
- "Folk Hour - every Tuesday from 7-8pm with Dave. Traditional music with a smattering of French, Irish, Scottish and American.
- Mrs.Howe Bizarre - Wednesday 9-11pm. Mrs H likes to play mostly contemporary tracks with the occasional classic rock track. And don't forget her "Guilty Pleasures" (in fact, why not send in your suggestion...a track you like, but don't admit to!)
- Howe Bizarre - Thursday 8-10pm with Steve. A tour around the quieter corners of our libraries.
- "Radio Bookclub"
Every month Mrs.H dedicates the first hour of her show to reviewing a book we've all been reading. We have a posse of folks in the studio with us and it's always a lively discussion.
- The Prog Files
The FIRST Tues in the month at 9pm, Adrian Beeby takes us on a journey through all things Progressive
We replay all our live shows at the weekends, starting at 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, and some shows get published to or podcasting site at Mixcloud (click the REPLAY tab on the homepage).
(Dave's Folk Hour dedicated to his brother has had over 290 listens)
We host a really lively chat app on our homepage, you can sign in as a guest or use your Facebook/Twitter login (or even set up your own chatwing logon). It's a great way of getting involved, requesting songs etc.
