April 2016

Happy Spring!

The hustle and bustle of the season is upon us.
April is already shaping up to be a wonderful month with our 4th annual 'MEarth Day' spring FUNdraiser coming up on April 23rd (see right sidebar for more details) and our garden/culinary programming bringing hundreds of students from across the county to the Hilton Bialek Habitat property!

April is also National Volunteer Appreciation month. None of what we do would be possible without our incredible crew of volunteers (and superstar Volunteer Coordinator, Melissa Lopez)! In 2015, 350 people donated nearly 4,800 hours of their time and talents to make MEarth tick. To get involved, please contact Melissa@MEarthCarmel.org
Teamwork makes the dreamwork!

Hard to believe, but our Summer Day Camps are almost halfway sold out already! If you have aspiring eco-superstars in your life, make sure to sign them up for a summer of hands-on learning and exploration at the Habitat. Check out our one-of-a-kind camp offerings and sign up HERE today (need-based scholarships and eco-leadership opportunities available too)! The scholarship application deadline is May 1st, and the registration deadline is May 20th.

In addition, we are still looking for some fantastic volunteers to join in the fun this summer. Please fill out this interest form to get involved!

The changing seasons are also bringing some exciting announcements at MEarth. Our Native Plant Expert/Restoration specialist and NatureConnect educator, Rose Ashbach, is expecting her second baby! She will be buzzing off this month to prepare for the new arrival. Please join us in wishing her and her growing family well!

We are also hiring to fill our Program Director position (to learn more and read the full job description, click here). This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced programming specialist to become a vital part of MEarth's future. Thanks for helping us spread the word!

We look forward to seeing you later this month at MEarth Day! This is sure to be our biggest and best sustainability event yet, and you will want to be a part of history in the making!

Warm regards,

Tanja Roos
Executive Director, MEarth

Help GREEN a local resort and support MEarth!

Bernardus Lodge & Spa has just launched a new program, The Giving Tree, to encourage guests to help reduce the facility's use of water and power by opting out of daily linen replacement and cleaning services. In recognition of their support, Bernardus will donate $5 to MEarth for each day a guest declines service.

MEarth is thrilled and honored to be a beneficiary of this wonderful program during the months of April - June 2016.

If you plan to stay or know of guests coming to town, please be sure to mention Bernardus Lodge & Spa and this encouraging initiative!
