Fairways

The fairways are now back in play after their winter rest, although mother nature hasn’t been kind and made sure they have been well watered after two relatively dry weeks. As the growing season begins the course will start to recover, but please be sympathetic on where you walk or take your trollies, and observe all roped off areas or GUR without exception . Please continue using winter wheels on your trollies when the ground remains soft and can be dug up by the summer versions, and don’t forget those pitchmarks!

Upcoming Events

Please note two social dates for your diaries.

  • 29th April – Rules Quiz Night
  • 7th May – Stars in their Eyes. Tickets £12.50, including buffet, Disco and karaoke. Evening starts at 7:30

Hole Ownership

A new initiative is now up an running, whereby every member, according the their surname has been allocated joint ownership of a hole, where it is expected they will give it a bit of extra special attention, each and every time they play.

That might mean additional pitchmarks repaired, a couple of divots replaced that might normally be walked past, an extra bag of grass seed used on the fairway, a piece of litter removed or any other small element of care and ownership you can think of.

With 18 holes now divided very scientifically up by over 600 members, each hole has about 33 “owners”  and this little and often approach can only help course conditions.
Please look on the noticeboards on the back stairs, or in the Spike Bar to see which hole you have been allocated.
With the new green at the 7th now in play, and the bunkers soon to follow, it is down to the members and visitors alike to help keep the course in this condition.

Please note this initiative is in addition to the normal care of the course expected for every hole played.
