DETAILS Ahead of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS, the President of the General Assembly will organize an informal interactive civil society hearing with the active participation of people living with HIV and civil society. Representatives of United Nations Member States and observer States, nongovernmental organizations, civil society organizations and the private sector will attend the meeting. United Nations accredited journalists are invited to attend.

WHAT United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS

DETAILS The President of the General Assembly, Mogens Lykketoft, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Heads of State and Government will join senior officials, representatives of international organizations, civil society and people living with HIV at the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS. The meeting will focus attention on the importance of accelerating the response to HIV over the next five years to set the world on course to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. United Nations Member States are expected to adopt a Political Declaration on Ending AIDS to scale up the pace of progress and reach a set of time-bound targets.
