PABA Scholarship Deadline Extended
PABA has extended the time to apply for its student scholarships to April 8, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.. All current law students are encouraged to apply.
At this year’s Installation & Awards Gala, PABA and the PABA Foundation will be awarding up to $8000 in scholarships to deserving law students who have demonstrated commitment to the Asian Pacific American community, financial need, and academic achievement. PABA will also award one Kaplan bar preparation course, one $1,200 certificate to be used toward a BarBri course, and one $250 certificate to be used toward a BarBri course.

Volunteer with Advancing Justice-LA at the LA County-Wide Mega Citizenship Workshop on Sun 4/10
(1,000+ clients are expected to be served for free at this major naturalization event!)
When: Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 8:00 am – 5 pm (morning and afternoon shifts available, but volunteers are highly encouraged to commit to entire day if possible). Volunteer attorneys to perform legal review are especially needed, but volunteers for other duties, including application assistance, line coordinators/runners, and more are available! Where: Long Beach Convention Center, 300 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802
Language Needs: Tagalog, Khmer, and Spanish speakers preferred, but bilingual language ability not required to volunteer.
Volunteer Sign-Up Procedures: Volunteers will receive additional details upon signing up. Validated parking and certain meals/refreshments will be provided!
Training: Training for legal review and application assistance is available both in-person and via online webinar. Training for line coordinators/runners will be provided on-site.

PABA’s 30th Annual Installation and Awards Gala May 6, 2016
PABA's 30th Annual Installation and Awards Gala will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live.
PABA is honored to feature California Assemblymember Rob Bonta, the first Filipino American elected to the California State Legislature, as our keynote speaker. We will also recognize Eduardo Angeles, the Federal Aviation Administration's Associate Administrator for Airports, as PABA’s Trailblazer. Joe Sayas, principal of The Law Offices of C. Joe Sayas, Jr., will be recognized as PABA’s Community Champion. PABA will also recognize the Honorable Rafael Ongkeko as PABA’s Distinguished Jurist.
