Summer/Fall '16 Class Registration Ongoing

Summer and Fall 2016 Registration began March 22. Your specific date\time is now posted on your Access+ Current Student Info page. The dates below are simply start dates for each class level--not the specific start dates for individuals.
  • March 22 – Projected Seniors
  • March 29 – Projected Juniors
  • April 5 – Projected Sophomores
  • April 12 – Continuing Freshman
Be sure to check Access Plus for your start date and time. Also check for any registration holds and contact the office that placed the hold on your registration. If you have an advising hold, schedule an appointment with your adviser through CyAdvise before your registration start date.

Students will not be able to add restricted sections of business courses until Tuesday, April 12. At that time, if a seat remains in the course and the prerequisite is met, a student may be able to add the class using a pink add slip. Students interested in enrolling in a restricted section must see John Wageman in the Undergraduate Program Office (1200 Gerdin) during his walk-in hours and he will assist you.

The College of Business enforces all course prerequisites. Make sure that you have met the prerequisite before registering for a course. Please remember that Business faculty cannot sign students into Business classes. Registration for classes will remain open on AccessPlus though the 5th day of the term (August 26).  On the 6th day, class registration will close and students will not be added to business courses or section changes. Contact John Wageman in the Undergraduate Program Office (1200 Gerdin) if there are extenuating circumstances beyond the student’s control.

Exemplary Peer Mentor Service Recognition

College of Business Learning Team peer mentors and supervisors were recognized for their service at the Iowa State University Peer Mentor Celebration held in the Memorial Union on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

Hannah Kuhn (Business Learning Team) was one of 20 peer mentors at ISU to receive the Exemplary Peer Mentor Award for 2015-2016.  The exemplary service award honors those who have demonstrated leadership and supported the goals of Iowa State University.  Over 500 learning community peer mentors provide leadership on campus.

Hannah has served as a Peer Mentor in the Freshman BLT for the past two years and will continue in the fall working with transfer students.  BLT Peer Mentors Hunter Buerster and Dorothy Weaver were also nominated for the Exemplary Peer Mentor Award.

Kathy Weaver was also recognized as an Exemplary Peer Mentor Supervisor for outstanding guidance and leadership.  Kathy began working as a co-coordinator of BLTs and an academic adviser in the College of Business in October, 2015.

Since 1995, Iowa State University’s nationally-rated program has served over 62,000 students. The university offers 80 learning communities, and over 70% of first-year students participate.

Study Abroad Policies Reminder
Planning to study abroad? Here are some important factors to remember:
  • Courses taken during study abroad must be taken for a grade to be used to meet degree requirements other than electives, just like ISU courses.
  • It is the student's responsibility to ensure a transcript is sent to ISU.
  • Grades for study abroad courses are noted on transcripts, but are not used in calculating the ISU cumulative GPA.
  • Study abroad courses do not transfer back as equivalent courses. They are all substitutes, and must be coded by the Adviser on the degree audit after the courses are entered on the student's permanent record.
