 Matthew 6:9-18
This week we embark on a journey of Drawing Near to God by exploring some Spiritual Disciplines.  All of the classic spiritual disciplines can be found in some form in scripture.  Several years ago I had a bit of a 'bad attitude' toward these spiritual practices.  Then I signed up for a two year experience called Deeper Journey .  Through the discipline of engaging in the spiritual disciplines, I began to learn more about the importance and beauty of seeking God in these intentional ways.  I have come to understand them as different languages that enhance our communication and relationship with God.  And just like any language, some communicate better than others - some are easier for us, even more effective for us in engaging our relationship with God.  I tend to gravitate towards meditation on Scripture as a primary relationship language.  You may gravitate towards another.  Looking forward to the journey. This week, Eileen Christofferson is going to focus on the discipline/practice of prayer and fasting in her sermon titled, "Communication: You have to Talk Sometimes," which is drawn from Matthew 6:9-18.discipline Through the Deeper Journey.  ritual disciplines can be found in some form in Scripture.  Several years ago I had a bit of a 'bad attitude' towards these spiritual practices.  Then I signed up for a two year experience called

Second Offering
We will be taking a 2nd offering for Creekside Church, our daughter church here in Boulder.  Click HERE to read about Creekside's mission and vision. Things are changing at Creekside. Adie Johnson, Co-Pastor of Creekside and longtime friend of Crestview, is stepping down from Creekside while she pursues training to be a hospital chaplain. She has been accepted as an intern chaplain at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore for the summer.  After that she hopes to be accepted into a year long chaplain residency program, though does not yet know where. Katie Clement. a co-founder and lead team member of Creekside has stepped in to accompany Doug Kennedy in Creekside’s leadership

Children's Sunday School 10:15 am
Sunday School this year has been focusing on characters of the Old Testament. Ruth and Jackie have come up with a plan to help Crestview Children learn more in-depth about these characters.  This Sunday, we will be talking about Ezra and Nehemiah, and how they are part of God's great big plan.

After the Sunday sermon, please get your coffee and join Eileen in the Fellowship Hall Library for a time of reflection and "unpacking" the sermon.

Call for Summer Session Young Children's Worship (YCW) Teachers
This is a volunteer position that helps teach valuable lessons to our younger kids during service. We would like to have 4 new teachers for the summer, offering to take one rotating shift per month (flexible). This allows for our gracious school year teachers to re-charge over the summer. If interested, please email Jackie & Ruth at children@crestviewchurch.org

Dinner for 8 -- Improved
We're making a change to this program!  We had an experimental group of 4 families with children who met last session and we're going to continue to offer this choice.   You'll be able to choose either meeting with Adults Only, Whole Families, or Either of the Above.  Groups of ~8 adults OR ~3 Whole Families meet for dinner once-a-month for 4 months.  Hosting of the dinner rotates among the group, and everyone brings food.  Our purpose is to build deeper relationships.  It’s also an opportunity to invite 1-2 friends you may have been wanting to invite to Crestview, and here's a chance to introduce them to others from your church in a fun setting.  Sign-ups begin April 3 and end April 24.  Groups meet May - August 2016.  Find the sign-up sheet at the hutch in the Fellowship Hall or you can contact Muffie VanAndel (303) 444-7036 or
margaret.vanandel@gmail.com.
