UNC-Chapel Hill Wins 2016 Senator Paul Simon Spotlight Award

Carolina has been awarded the 2016 Senator Paul Simon Spotlight Award by NAFSA, the Association of International Educators, in recognition of partnership activity with Universidad San Francisco de Quito in the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador. The award is granted to three universities each year that demonstrate innovation and creativity in a particular area of internationalization.

"With support from the Chancellor’s Global Education Fund, we traveled to Reggio Calabria, Italy, to report on the European migration crisis. Our final project, "Divided by the Sea," shares the stories of both migrants and community members while also asking questions about migration and mobility around the world."
