WORLD COWPEA CONFERENCE


Earlier this month, Drs. Julia Bello-Bravo and Barry Pittendrigh attended the Pan-African Grain Legume & World Cowpea Conference in Zambia. They (i) presented research conducted by SAWBO and our collaborators and (ii) distributed over 400 USB cards containing our library of animations. They also congratulated SAWBO's long-term collaborator, Ibrahim Baoua, on his award.

NEW ANIMATIONS IN OUR VIDEO LIBRARY


We have over 500 different animations in our Video Library, with over 50 different topics, in more than 90 languages variants. Here are the latest releases:

MICROFINANCE IN SPANISH FROM SPAIN


SAWBO's team has been working to translate all the microfinance animations into Spanish. Thank you Victor Font and Natasha Katz for putting your voices on them! Please, click here to view these animations in our Spanish from Spain playlist.

MICROFINANCE 1 IN SPANISH FROM URUGUAY


The following video describes how to start a savings group. It includes how to form a group, how to organize the group and then how to organizing a savings box.

MICROFINANCE 3 IN SPANISH FROM URUGUAY


This animation describes the concept of fines that can be applied when one misses a group meeting and in the same order, fines that can be applied when one misses a savings payment. It is the third animation out of six in the microfinance animation series.

SHARING KNOWLEDGE USING THE SAWBO DEPLOYER APP


This animation will show how the SAWBO Deployer app can travel with our collaborators to help spread knowledge to many people and communities across the globe.

LUNG CANCER SCREENING AND PREVENTION


In collaboration with University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), we are creating a lung cancer animation that talks about screening and prevention techniques.

HIP DYSPLASIA


Hip dysplasia is a problem from birth where the hip joint has not formed properly. Over time, children born with a dislocated hip will have a limp. If diagnosed early, this condition is very easily treated.

PAHO PRESENTS NEW CRITERIA TO DEFINE WHAT'S "TOO MUCH" SUGAR


The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has presented a new PAHO Nutrient Profile Model to define excess levels of sugar, salt and fat in processed food and drink products.

WORLD HEALTH DAY 2016


Word Health Day 2016 is going to be celebrated on April 7th, focusing on how to beat diabetes. Check how much you know about diabetes by taking this test that can be found on the World Health Organization's website.
