Students visit

On March 25th, Systematic and SystemX welcomed 28 students from Sorbonne University and ENSTA ParisTech. During their visit, students had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the LRA project driving simulator and to discover the work done within the EIC project.

 
 
 

Design thinking and IoT

On March 8th, Systematic and Cap Digital organized an evening dedicated to “Design thinking and IoT” within the Think Tank Living Things series. Charles Kremer, SystemX Smart Territories Program Director, participated in a roundtable and shared his vision about using design thinking methods in R&D projects.

Raïssa Pokam, PhD student in the LRA project, has been selected for the Paris-Saclay final competition of “My thesis within 180 seconds”. She will present her research efforts on “Augmented Reality Adaptative Human-Machine Interface for the Autonomous Automotive Driving” to a larger audience with one single slide. To support Raïssa, rendezvous on April 7th in Gif-sur-Yvette (Salle de la Terrasse).  

 
 
 

Frédéric Tuong completed is doctoral thesis

The first SystemX PhD student, Frédéric Tuong, completed his doctoral thesis on “Constructing Semantically Sound Object-Logics for UML/OCL Based Domain-Specific Languages”. He looks back on the three years of his doctoral thesis within the FSF project.

As part of an evaluation, the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA) awarded the Gold Label for Systematic. The Gold Label corresponds to the highest level of the rating.

ROM project

Pierre Froment and Timothée Leblond, respectively research engineer and PhD student in the ROM project, participated in the Star Global Conference 2016 in Prague (Czech Republic) from 7th to 9th March. They gave a talk on “CAD-based Shape Optimization of an Exhaust Manifold Using the Adjoint Solver (in corporation with Renault)”.

 
 
 

SIM project

Gauthier Fontaine, PhD student in the SIM project, attended the 2016 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT 2016) from 14th to 17th March in Taiwan (China). He presented his current research efforts on “Multi-objective Optimization of Automotive Electrical/Energy Storage System”. 

 
 
 

EIC project

On March 17th, the CEA list organized its #TechDay annual event. The EIC project (Environment for Cybersecurity Interoperability and Integration) ran a booth to present its demo on “Anonymous Biometric Access Control based on Homomorphic Encryption”.

 
 
 

SIP project

The AFNeT Standardization Day took place in Paris on 23rd March, on the following topic: “Digital threads in industry based on PLM open standards". Nicolas Figay, SIP project manager, presented the SIP platform. As a reminder, SystemX signed in January a partnership with AFNeT, the French association of digital reference in industrial sectors. 

The third edition of I-PLM (Interoperability and Product Life Management) seminar held on April 5th at the Montreuil IUT. Numerous experts participated in this event to exchange views and discuss on interoperability issues. Nicolas Figay, SIP project manager, and Laurent Gasser, senior research engineer in the SIP project, took the floor to share some works carried out within the SIP project

 
 
 

ISC project

The next “Safety Assessment Seminar” will take place on April 8th in SystemX premises. Ali Koudri, research engineer in the ISC project, will talk about “Complex Systems Collaborative Engineering: Focus on the Safety Assessment”. His presentation will be based on a use case in avionics for evaluating and comparing architectures with an emphasis on functional safety properties.

Singapore

In February, Francois Stephan (SystemX Development & International Director) attended the CSDM Asia conference on Complex Systems Design & Management, organized by CESAMES in Singapore. On this occasion, he held several meetings with some local research entities in order to identify potential collaborations with SystemX.

 
 
 

Vienna

In March, Pascal Poisson (Alstom Transport Program Manager R&D), Charles Kremer (SystemX Smart Territories Program Director), Jakob Puchinger (SystemX Project Manager) and François Stephan (SystemX Development & International Director) held a meeting in Vienna with AIT (Austrian Institute of Technology), the largest non-academic research institute in Austria. The aim was to identify scientific and technologique possible cooperation on the issues of "data mining & pattern recognition" applied to the Smart City.
