Stratifying Data in DHEC's SCANGIS database

Join us for the third webinar in our Call to Action for Health Equity Series tomorrow, May 26, at noon. This time we will focus on the first component of our Call to Action: Stratifying data by race/ethnicity, zip-code, and income, to identify which populations need additional support.

DHEC’s SCAN-GIS database is home to more than 20 years of vital and population health statistics that can be filtered by race/ethnicity, county, zip-code, education, payer source, among many others. Anybody can go online, query the database, and cross-reference dozens of variables.

Mike Smith, PhD, Director of the Division of Research and Planning at DHEC, and Daniela Nitcheva, PhD, Director of the Division of Biostatistics will be teaching us all how to make the most of this data set as a tool for strategic decision-making and evaluation in our organizations and communities.
