GRANT INFORMATION SESSION IN NORTH PHILADELPHIA ON APRIL 27
Join us for an information session to learn more about Leeway, our grants, and application processes. Past recipients will share their experiences, and Leeway staff will provide tips and best practices on how to prepare your application. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to sit one-on-one with a Leeway representative to get feedback or ask questions about your application.

LEEWAY TRANSFORMATION AWARD 
The Transformation Award provides unrestricted annual awards of $15,000 to women and trans* artists living in the Delaware Valley region who create art for social change and have done so for the past five years or more, demonstrating a long-term commitment to social change work.

University City Arts League is now piloting a new Performing Arts Residency Program.

Bread & Roses Community Fund is hiring a Director of Development.

40th Street Artist-in-Residence Program is accepting applications from West Philadelphia artists. This residency includes one year of free studio space. Deadline: May 2
2016 Sarah Jacobson Film Grant grants women and transgender artists creating films in any genre, length, and stage of their project. Deadline: May 16
Iranian American Cinema is accepting submissions of films under 20 minutes in any genre. Films must be written and directed by Iranian Americans.
Deadline: May 30
Label me Latina/o, an academic journal, is accepting scholarly and creative works for their Fall 2016 issue. Writers should be of Latin American heritage who live in the United States.
Deadline: June 15
First Peoples Fund opened nominations for the 2017 Community Spirit Awards. Eligible nominees are Native artists who sustain cultural traditions within their community.

Philadelphia Photo Arts Center and The Print Center present the Philadelphia Art Book Fair, featuring exhibitors from photography and art book publishers to individual artists and institutions. April 1-2 at the Annex on Filbert Street. 
Girls Justice League, the Education Law Center, and Penn's Center for the Study of Race and Equity in Education present a talk by Dr. Monique Morris on her new book, Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools. April 4 at the William Way LGBT Community Center. 
Mariposa & the Saint, a play made from Sara (Mariposa) Fonseca’s letters to her longtime friend Julia Steele Allen, after she was sentenced to fifteen months in solitary confinement. April 5 at the Rotunda, April 8 and 9 at Eastern State Penitentiary.

Vashti Dubois's (ACG ‘12, ‘06) Colored Girls Museum was featured in the Philadelphia Sun. The museum, located in Vashti’s home, honors the stories, experiences, and histories of black girls and women.
