RCR's Annual General Meeting

RCR’s Annual General Meeting is just around the corner! All are welcome - members and non-members alike. If you’re interested in learning more about RCR’s activities in 2015, attend the AGM to hear the latest from RCR’s Board of Directors. The meeting will be paperless so download any documents you need from the governance section of our website ahead of the meeting. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. at the United Way of Regina (1440 Scarth St.).

April's Metro Cat

Thanks to Metro Pet Market for Spaying It Forward! This month, Metro paid for Louisa's spay surgery as part of their on-going mission to foster responsible pet guardianship.

Louisa is a sweet young cat who turned up hungry and lonely at the home of a cat-loving family. Now she's making herself right at home in RCR foster care while she waits to be adopted. Check out her adoption profile and for more info about Metro Pet Market, please visit their website.

Visit Pet Valu in April

Make a donation by buying a “paw” at Pet Valu South and support local rescues! Plus, when you buy a paw (minimum donation $1), you’ll receive a voucher for $5 off your next purchase over $40 at Pet Valu. Proceeds from paw donations in April will be split between Regina Cat Rescue, Bright Eyes Dog Rescue and The Pack Project. RCR will also be holding an adoption event at Pet Valu on Saturday, April 16. Volunteers and adoptable RCR cats will be ready to meet you from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pet Valu South (4662 Gordon Road). We hope to see you there!

Who is RCR? Q&A with an RCR volunteer

Bottle feeding neonatal kittens is such a demanding job that RCR currently only has three volunteers available to take the task on. This month we catch up with one of them, Danielle Gauthier Kratz. Danielle has been involved as a volunteer and employee with animal welfare organizations for over 20 years. In this Q&A she shares the ups and downs of caring for young kittens, and how she fits feeding them every two hours into her daily schedule.

Meet Gizmo!

This month’s feature cat is Gizmo. This seven-month-old sweetie is playful, energetic and affectionate. He gets along well the other cats in his foster home and would make a great addition to any family looking for a fun feline friend.
