From the Counseling Center:
Glory Daze.  Graduating seniors are often afflicted with a strange malady known as “senioritis.”  You’ve probably seen the signs:  restlessness, difficulty staying focused, uncertainty about the future, indecisiveness, and bouts of giddy happiness followed closely by tearful sadness.  Seniors’ thought processes are occupied largely by whatever comes next (grad school, job search, wedding plans, new job), so there’s not much left over for completing this term.  While we all know how exciting it can be to end one phase of life and begin another, we also know it’s important to adequately complete the current phase.  In fact, sometimes it’s essential because we can’t enter the next stage until we do.  The only real cure for “senioritis” is graduation but the Counseling Center offers some help that can alleviate the worst symptoms.  If your graduating senior is struggling to complete this final term, encourage him or her to come in and talk with one of our friendly counselors.

From the FSC Career Center:
Attention Juniors & Seniors!  Would you like your student to practice and refine their networking skills at our Corporate Partner Dinner?  We welcome them to attend this comprehensive professional development event and etiquette dinner that brings our corporate partners and FSC students together for an evening of introductions, interaction, and company information.  Please have them come professionally dressed!  They are required to RSVP with the Career Center.  They may call 863-680-4390 or come by the Career Center to sign up for the event.

All Students!  Would you like your student to learn how to create a strong LinkedIn Profile?  In this session, your student will learn how to build your LinkedIn site, identify and interact with connections, identify ways to use LinkedIn for their job or internship search, and also explore the additional features of LinkedIn.  Your student will also have the opportunity to get their photo taken for their LinkedIn site.  Have them come professionally dressed!  The workshop will be held in the Edge Computer Lab in Room E235 from 4:00-5:00pm.

Attention Seniors! Has your student established a plan of action for their “next step”? Whether they are pursuing employment or graduate school, the Career Center stands ready to help! Have them meet with a Career Counselor to gain insight about resources and strategies to guide them in achieving their professional goals! Have them choose from the topic areas listed below to create an experience tailored to their specific needs.
