Financial Literacy & Higher Learning Workshop

Learn how you can afford and start saving for college! Presented by the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura.

Ventura County Library System  celebrates National Poetry Month with  a county-wide Haiku Poetry Contest.

Submit your original haiku at any library location or online at tiny.cc/vclhaiku.  Deadline is April 17, 5:00 p.m.

Entries will be judged by Ventura County Poet Laureate Phil Taggart, and the winners will receive custom-designed prizes commemorating their accomplishments.
All submissions should follow the traditional format for haiku: three lines of five, seven, and five syllables each. The contest is open to all ages and topics; contact the library for further information regarding contest rules.

Opera Santa Barbara presents a series of Free Noontime Concerts at E.P. FosterLibrary. The concerts will feature members of the Mosher Studio Artist Program, a residential training program for accomplished young singers, performing a diverse repertoire of popular and lesser-known operatic offerings, all accompanied by piano.

Concert dates are:  April 15 and May 13, 12:00pm to 12:45pm

 Hitchcock Children’s Center and E.P. Foster Library are co-hosting free yoga class for children ages 3-5 and their care-givers.  This child-centered approach to yoga practice will include music, games, and interactive kid-friendly poses.
