Everything we are able to accomplish is due to the dedication and financial and hand-on support from our volunteer board, members, and partners. This past month we would like to thank the following individuals and organizations:
  • The Annual Fairview Park Easter Egg Hunt tradition continues! Thank you Ann Garland and Katie Zucca for your amazing leadership and organization. Thank you Ohio City Incorporated for your continued support. Thank you to Steve Kachmyers and Katherine Readey for your day-of support and SPECIAL THANKS to our returning Easter Bunny Claire Mancuso and her spirit guide Beth!  Of course, thank you also to all the egg stuffer and Saturday morning "layers". The Egg Hunt is truly a community effort!

  • Steve Kachmyers and our friends at Near West Rec and Franklin Circle Church. Without them, we would not have our weekly Gym Days! (Tuesdays 9:30-1130 am)

  • Sasha Ottson-Deal couldn't make it to our Tuesday Gym days - did that get her down? No! She started her own Friday Meet Up for kids at Calvary Reformed Church! Thank you for being super member and organizing this fun event for our community.

The New Year is a Memory... But it is not quite summer yet...
How can you stay motivated to maintain your healthy habits?

Try These Tips Today:
  • Set one realistic health and wellness goal today (don’t promise yourself too much!).
  • Be kind and pay yourself a compliment today.
  • Do 12 sit-ups, push-ups and planks today (repeat 3 times).
  • Sit less today — stand while working with a standing desk, pace during conference calls and walk at lunchtime.
  • Clear your pantry, fridge and freezer of foods with a lot of sugar, fat and salt.
  • Add healthful foods into your day, such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables and lean proteins.
  • Factor in fiber with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, peas and lentils.
  • Color your health happy by planning at least one meatless day into your week.
  • Slow down your eating by taking at least 20 minutes to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner (it takes 20 minutes to feel fullness).
  • Forge ahead — don’t let a bump in the road of your healthy lifestyle get you down. Keep your goals at the top of your mind and move forward.
Stay Well,
Cheryl Sara
