Loyola Citizenship Clinic Today

The Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic (LIJC) will be hosting a Citizenship Clinic this Saturday, April 2, at Loyola Law School from 10am – 2pm. The LIJC will be providing free legal services, including citizenship information, eligibility, legal review and assessment, application assistance, and fee waiver guidance. Assistance will be provided on a first come, first serve basis, and will be limited to the first 50 individuals who show up to the event.

The LIJC is a community-based collaboration of Loyola Law School, Loyola Marymount University, Homeboy Industries Inc., and Dolores Mission Church. LIJC’s mission is to advance the rights of the indigent immigrant population in East Los Angeles through direct legal services, education, and community empowerment. In anticipation of the upcoming presidential election, LIJC is making a push to assist as many people as possible in attaining citizenship so they could take part in voting.

Based in Southern California, PABA, the largest local association of Filipino-American lawyers in the United States, is comprised of attorneys, judges, and law students.  It was formed in response to the legal issues confronting the Filipino-American community and the professional concerns of Filipino-American lawyers and students seeking to enter our profession.  PABA aims to strengthen, educate, and support our community through advocacy, legal clinics, pro bono legal services, continuing education seminars, mentoring programs, and scholarships.
