GRADE 10 PERSONAL PROJECT PRESENTATIONS

Each year in grade 10 students take on the challenge of producing a personal project. This project may be on any topic, but has three mandatory elements, a written report, a process journal and a product.

The topics for the personal projects this year are:
  • Psychological consequences of bullying
  • Writing a booklet for teenagers
  • How to become a qualified and reflective hunter
  • Writing a fantasy book
  • Producing an EDM track
  • Creating a hip hop song
  • Architecture expresses culture
  • Writing and illustrating a children`s book
  • Forensic Anthropology
Students start working on these in August, and the final projects are handed in in February. These projects are to be completed in the student`s own time, but two half days are provided by the school to work on these, along with the support of a personal supervisor, for each student, and weekly lunchtime sessions.

So as you can image a great deal of work goes into these projects, and there is a great deal of relief for students once they are completed.

To celebrate and share these projects there will be presentations made by the students, and a display of projects next Wednesday afternoon in the grade 8 room, from 1 - 3 pm. We would like to invite parents to attend this, if they have the opportunity, so that they too can share in the great work done by this year`s grade 10.
