Friends of FPRI,
We are continuing to examine security, politics, economics, and foreign policy of the Baltic region via The Baltic Bulletin.
Last month, we published two Baltic Bulletins. The first “Lithuania Moves to Tackle Challenges Posed by Emigration,” examined an issue that is relevant to Latvia and Estonia, as well as Lithuania. Professor Dangis Gudelis of Mykolas Romeris University explained how Lithuania is learning to use its diaspora as a competitive advantage.
The second Bulletin, by Simon Hoellerbauer, was “Lithuania Moves to Bolster Electricity Security.” Here, too, Lithuania’s efforts to enhance electricity interconnections with Scandinavia and Poland provide a potential case study for how each of the Baltic states can enhance energy security—and the challenges that such efforts face.
We plan to publish two more Bulletins in April, one on Baltic cooperation and the second on a proposed new gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea.
I look forward to your continued support and welcome any feedback. Don't forget to follow us on twitter @BalticBulletin !
Best regards,
Chris Miller
