Youth network born in Central America

One hundred youth came together for the Youth for Water Conference in Granada, Nicaragua, on 11-12 March. The objective was to promote exchange among youth about water in the context of climate change and water security. The results of the event include the creation of a regional water youth network and appointment of a GWP Youth Focal Point for Central America. Read more >>

Ugandan communities learn conservation from game

One of the partner organisations of GWP Uganda is the “Mpan’game Club”. It is a non-profit organisation named after Mpan’game, a participatory board game which is designed around the River Mpanga. The game educates communities on issues concerning natural resources conservation, and it has already resulted in several projects. Read more >>

New Technical Committee Chair

Spain: Segura River returned to its health

The Segura Basin in Spain is one of the driest in the Europe Union, with only 365 mm of annual rainfall. Nevertheless, it is also a region which exports fruit and vegetables. The Segura River is the main source for irrigation. This case study describes how the river was brought back to health after a long period of mismanagement. Read more >>
