Mirth, Marvel and Maud, Walthamstow, 186 Hoe Street E17 4QH
Saturday 7th May, 12-5pm
We can't wait! The market will host regular designers selling handmade goods, new designers for 2016 and a fashion section, 'Downtown' with handmade clothes and accessories for the discerning independent fashion shopper!
E17 Designers celebrates its tenth anniversary on 7 May 2016 at a new venue: Mirth, Marvel and Maud, the former cinema, on Hoe Street.
That’s two much-loved mainstays of the Waltham Forest social scene brought together for a big day out of social shopping with local designer-makers. And we can’t wait!
Showing for the first time: Mirienna’s statement acrylic jewellery, Torsiello’s soft furnishings and Ros Shiers’s ‘dog’ prints and stationery... Plus a dedicated ‘Downtown’ fashion section featuring GLOW London, D4Discus, upcycling trends with Queenie and Ted, MOIXLondon and great, graphic tees from new E17-based label, Kindred. For children, there’s charming handknits and cute accessories by Hilda Rocket.
Live dj sessions from Michael Lomotey (Trades Hall All Dayer) and Auntie Maureen (Bestival, Candlelight Club) on the decks and Suzie Cakes as ever, behind the cake stall!
Click here for an up to date list of makers, more added in the next few weeks!
E17 Designers started as a small group of makers in 2006, and now have over 60 emerging, established and new makers exhibiting locally several times a year, including the Walthamstow Garden Party and a pop up Christmas shop in The Mall Shopping Centre, Walthamstow, in 2015. All the artists, designers and makers show a variety of passionately crafted, handmade items.
Mirth, Marvel and Maud is a pop up bar in the beautiful foyer of the partly restored EMD/Granada cinema on Hoe Street. The bar will serve cocktails, regionally sourced ales, draught and bottled lagers, craft beer, fine wines and spirits and a brand new kitchen will be serving food in the main bar.
We are going downtown in a new venue, in Hoe Street, Walthamstow. Shop for your spring gifts: artists, designers and makers selling jewellery, fashion, accessories, ceramics and prints!
